CUSTOMER SUPPORT INTEGRATION ENGINEER - LASER COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

Hawthorne, California

On-site; Full-time; Permanent

An exciting Customer Support Integration Engineer position has become available with a multinational leading manufacturer of laser communication equipment. The key markets range from the space/satellite market represented by constellations of various sizes to ground-to-air and air-to-air laser communication platforms. We are growing the team in the US with key strategic hires to help focus on go-to-market objectives.

You will be a vital component supporting sales and business development activities and will lead the technical implementation of the company's laser communication products and value-added solutions. You'll deliver technical expertise and customer satisfaction to customers who integrate the company's laser communication products with their own systems, and provide on-site technical support and training to customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical related field
• Over 5 years of experience (experience working in a customer support role is a plus)
• Experience as Test/Integration Engineer in the aerospace industry working with test equipment and/or optical hardware
• Experienced in the use of electrical, networking, and optical test equipment as well as data acquisition systems
• Experience with embedded systems (Linux is a plus)
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical, software, and optical systems
• Understand and follow electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Ability to write easy-to-follow and detailed testing procedures and document issues
• Ability to translate technical language
• Ability to travel frequently (domestic and internationally) - C. 50% of the time
• Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, flashing lights, heat, cold, rain and noise
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and/or ladders regularly throughout the day, working in confined environments or challenging positions
• Able to obtain and maintain US security clearance
• (Experience working with Free-Space Optical, RF communication equipment, UAVs, or spacecraft integration, testing, and operation is a plus)
