JOB SUMMARY

Our client, a leading company in the aerospace industry, is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to support Test Operations in Palmdale, CA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working under general supervision and with detailed instruction for special assignments, the Aircraft Mechanic will be responsible for providing flight line and ground support.
Tasks will include troubleshooting aircraft and engine systems to determine related problems and identify possible solutions, providing technical assistance in mechanical and inspection work, and assisting with the development and review of new processes and procedures.
The Aircraft Mechanic will also be involved in training programs, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspecting powerplant and related components at regular intervals, and repairing aircraft systems including fuel, oil, and engine as required.
The incumbent will be expected to remove and replace airframe or engine components as required, review records to ensure all required documentation is completed, and may perform all launch and recovery tasks of aircraft to include ground operations, preflight items, ground observer responsibilities, and post flight items.
Other duties as assigned or required may include inspecting, testing, maintaining, and operating ground support equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of aircraft mechanical maintenance experience.
An FAA Airframe and Powerplant License may be required.
Must possess full knowledge and understanding of the detailed aspects of the job, knowledge of relevant computer applications and operations, basic leadership, organization, and planning skills, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees and customers including military and civilian.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance is required.
Must be able to work both independently and on a team and be able to work additional overtime hours as required.

SALARY:

$60,000 - $80,000
